I recently realized that it's been almost a year since the last blog entry and what a pity! So many trips taken...so many memories made...all yet to be documented....There were road trips made to Yarmouth, Wales, and the beautiful Isle of Wight
From the last blog post, we made a short trip to Yarmouth for a weekend in July. This was basically our 'need to get away from city life' kind of break. Stayed at the Wherry Hotel which was absolutely lovely and had a super weekend away with a few friends...
August bank holiday weekend saw all of us making a trip up to Wales. We had rented a cottage from Sykes called 'The Old Mill' at Talybont. The drive to this place was extremely picturesque especially when one hit the Snowdonia National park area. We had earlier wanted to rent a sea side cottage which unfortunately this cottage wasn't but it was only a short walk away from the beach. What this cottage did have was a brilliant little river running right behind it which had crystal clear (albeit freezing) water and a super family run pizza shop 2 mins walk away from it.
We had a brilliant time exploring the area - from walking across the cantilever bridge with the train running right besides us to trekking up to see a waterfall...to going around Harlech Castle....not to mention the alcoholic games of uno and pictionary that went on till the wee hours of the morning..
Our last trip before we all headed out for the holiday season was a weekend away to Isle of Wight - another one of those 'need to get away from city life' kind of trip. No agenda..no plan...just a ferry and hotel booking. Isle of Wight is rarely ever disappointing - beautiful beaches...sea side bars and restaurant...and the breathtaking Needles with the limestone cliffs which are always fun....
We stayed at the Clifton Hotel which was absolutely gorgeous - the garden, restaurant, and the very cosy bar all overlooked the English Channel....

Overall a nice relaxing weekend away ....to end it all....here are a few time lapse videos from the trip...
